I, Horst, was born in 1959 in Nuremberg, grew up and studied Telecommunications in Berlin and went finally to Greifswald.
In my first job in 1981 as Hardware Developer at Krone in Berlin I developed printed circuit boards for the BIGFON 1) project.
In 1987 I moved to Siemens Berlin and developed ASICs 2) and small systems.
After German reunion we worked together with Siemens Greifswald, the former Nachrichtenelektronik Greifswald NEG.
In 1996 Siemens Greifswald asked me to take over a CAD engineering group in Greifswald.

At first I set up a Quality Management Handbook for a midsize company, resulting in an ISO 9001 and 14001 certification without problems.
Together with Siemens Munich we performed EFQM 3) and CMMI 4) assessments.
In 2004 Siemens Munich asked me to join their Business Excellence team in Munich and to lead group Business Improvement. Here I developed Balanced Scorecards and introduced a worldwide Strategic Competence Management System.
With the handover of parts of ICN 5) to Nokia Siemens Networks in 2006 I went back to Greifswald as Head of Program Management Office. With an international team we controlled several projects with hundreds of man-years.
From 2009 on I was Head of Quality Management again, concentrating on Process Management.
In 2012 ADTRAN took over parts of Nokia Siemens Networks. Here I continued working as Quality Manager together with the quality team in Huntsville/Alabama and Germany until end of 2019.
Amongs others I set up the worldwide quality, environmental, information security and corporate social responsibility intranet pages, performed internal audits and so forth.
From 2020 on I offer my knowledge as freelancer …
In 2020/2021 I was project leader for the introduction of an Information Security Management System acc. to ISO 27001 and TISAX 6) for ml&s (manufacturing, logistics and services) in Greifswald.
In 2021 I supported the Institut für Integration und Weiterbildung IIW in Greifswald for defining AZAV measures 7) and sustaining the ISO 9001 certificate.
